How Lotto Is Played Online

Our website connects directly to the lotto ticket system the same way a retail shop does. When you click ‘buy lotto ticket’ on our site, our system checks you have enough money in your account to purchase the ticket. Upon confirmation of account funds, our system finalises your entry in the draw. We then send you a confirmation email of your purchase with your official ticket number, reassuring you that you hold an official entry in the draw.

Don’t worry if you accidentally delete our email. Your lotto tickets can be viewed at any time on your ozlotteries.com account under ‘My Account’.

You can now sit back and relax until the lotto game is drawn. Upon release of the official winning numbers our computer systems check every ticket our customers purchased in the draw. It determines if you have one or more winning numbers in a game (one line).

There is a set pool of money for each prize division, to be shared across all winners. When the number of winners for each division is officially announced, our system will calculate how much prize money you are to receive. This money is then placed into your account. Small division prize winners are sent an email confirming their prize and letting them know they can withdraw their winnings immediately.

Large division 1 and 2 prize winners will be contacted personally by Oz Lotteries Customer Support staff to congratulate them on becoming a major lotto winner. This is one of our favourite parts of the job, sharing in our customer’s joy and excitement. We let the customer know that if they log into their Oz Lotteries account they will be able to view their prize winnings, however for 3 weeks their prize winnings will be frozen while the customer undergoes an official winners identification process and the bank transfer is completed.

Over these 3 weeks our Customer Support team are regularly in contact with our winning customer. We help them with identification paperwork and answer any questions they may have. In our 12 years selling lotto online we’ve spoken with many big lotto winners, and picked up many tips to share!

The 3 weeks waiting period is a good time for you to become comfortable with your win. The shock will slowly wear off and you can start planning who you’d like to tell about your win and what your future will hold. After your ID is confirmed you can withdraw your winnings! We recommend speaking with your bank manager and/or financial advisor to let them know your bank account will be receiving a very large deposit!
