“I’m absolutely shell-shocked!”

It was a very happy Easter to the 20 members of a work syndicate from North Lakes, an outer suburb of Brisbane. The group won the entire Division 1 prize in a recent $4,000,000 Saturday Lotto draw!

The team of manufacturing workers held the only Division 1 winning ticket across Australia. The long-running syndicate also won Division 3 twenty-four times and Division 4 ninety times, bringing their total prize money to $4,001,888.47. The prize money shared between 20 members gave each member a share worth $200,094.42.

Lottery officials contacted the syndicate leader while she was at work to confirm the win – and she couldn’t wait to share the news with her colleagues!

“I’m going to get all the staff together and tell them!” she exclaimed. “They won’t believe it. They’ll think I’m winding them up! This is just unbelievable and will change the lives of so many people who work here.”

She added that the group usually went out for coffee together after a small lotto win, but this was simply “incredible”.

“This is going to be enormous for everyone. We’ve even got one team member who is about to retire!”

The woman said the team would spend the rest of the workday celebrating their incredible windfall. “I think there will be some tears,” she laughed. “Then we will definitely be having some champagne to celebrate.

“I may have a few vacancies to fill!”

The winning System 10 ticket was purchased online. The winning numbers from Saturday Lotto draw 3939 on the 20th of April were 36, 20, 9, 14, 18, and 16, plus supplementary numbers 7 and 19.
