A Western Australian tradie, a Cairns mother, a Broadmeadows syndicate, and a mystery Geelong lotto player were among the seven Division 1 Superdraw winners in October’s $21,000,000 draw.
With each Division 1 ticket winning a share of the jackpot worth at least $3,000,000, it looks as though Christmas has come early for these Superdraw winners!
The winning man in his thirties was from Bullcreek in Western Australia. The tradie came forward to claim his prize while on a smoko break. He said he would be heading back to work after making a pit stop to buy a sausage roll. “I bet that’s a first,” he laughed. “I haven’t caught a wink of sleep so I’ll probably add a coffee to the order too.”
He said that the news was still sinking in for him and his wife, who had also gone to work that day. “No requests from her yet,” he said when asked what the couple planned to do with their winnings. He added that they planned to pay off their mortgage first.
Meanwhile in Cairns, a mother was on her way to buy groceries when she discovered she was $3,000,000 richer. After checking her ticket at the local newsagency, she was so shocked that she had to abandon her groceries and go home.
She said that she had been playing the same numbers on a 12-game Standard ticket for 15 years but had recently considered changing to a QuickPick. She said the prize money would go towards paying off the mortgage, getting a new car, and helping family members. The lucky winner says she will keep working. “Life will carry on as normal.”
In Broadmeadows, Melbourne, a syndicate of thirty-six members is celebrating after winning prizes in multiple divisions, including Division 1 in Superdraw. Their total winnings came to $3,182,839, or $88,412 per share. The group played a 3-game System 17 ticket that was purchased from a local newsagency.
Lottery officials are still waiting for a mystery lotto player from Geelong to claim their $3,000,000 prize. They are aware of the winner’s identity. However, the contact details are not current. Therefore, they have no way of getting in touch to share the life-changing news. Officials are urging local players to check their tickets and contact them if they believe they have won. The winning ticket was purchased at a local newsagency.
The other three Superdraw winners were located in Queensland and Victoria.
Winning numbers from Saturday Lotto draw 3785 (28th of October): 13, 38, 17, 40, 44, 1 – supplementary numbers 22 and 31. There were 7 Division 1 winners across Australia in Saturday’s Superdraw. They each take home at least $3,000,000 in prize money.
