Congratulations to this $15 million Oz Lotto winner!
A Queensland farmer won $15 million in an Oz Lotto jackpot draw and was most excited at the realisation that he could finally buy his dream ute.
Located in Mareeba in North Queensland, he purchased his winning 12-game Quickpick ticket from a local newsagent. Coincidentally, it turned out to be the sixth division one winning ticket sold at that newsagency!
The farmer hadn’t realised he’d won straight away. He had been out working all morning. The winner only realised his good fortune when he came home for lunch and received the phone call with the news.
In complete shock and disbelief, his first words were:
He was aware there was an Oz Lotto winner in his area, but didn’t think for a second that it could be him.
Choosing to remain anonymous, he told the first things he would do. Buy his family a house, take them on holiday, and also buy his dream ute.
Despite his found new status as a multi-millionaire, the farmer in his 50s has no plans to retire any time soon.
“I’m a hard worker so I won’t retire because you got to keep doing something otherwise you go mad,” he said.
The winning numbers in Oz Lotto’s $30 million jackpot draw 1199 on Tuesday 7 February 2017 were 20, 32, 4, 8, 29, 37 and 40. Finally, the supplementary numbers were 7 and 17.
Along with the farmer, there was one other division one winner from WA. They shared Oz Lotto’s $30 million jackpot – both winning $15,000,000.
