Campbelltown Retiree in Doubt

One of the two Powerball winners is a Campbelltown woman. Fortunately, the new multi-millionaire spoke to lottery officials shortly after the draw. Initially, the retiree refused to accept the news and couldn’t believe it.

“My grandson told me earlier this week, ‘Grandma’s going to win the lotto’ and that’s why I bought a ticket!”

The winner had been playing for many years, but never truly thought she would win. But the dream of man has become a reality for the player. When asked by officials how she would use the prize, the winner said that she looks forward to sharing her new fortune with her family.

Smithfield Winner Unaware He’s a Millionaire!

While one of the Powerball winners was waiting for proof of her win, officials were struggling to find the other $40 Million winner! Despite having a registered player card that links his ticket to his contact details, the second winner was unable to be contacted.

The New South Wales man was unaware he had the winning ticket until a few days later, when he checked his ticket. He joked to his friend that he wouldn’t win because ‘only old people win’. This was quickly proven false when he discovered the $40 Million prize waiting on his entry!

Upon finally making contact with lottery officials, the winner discovered his phone number had one digit incorrect. It serves as a timely reminder to make sure your contact details are up to date!

The new multi-millionaire was in shock and said that he had tears running down his face and his heart racing.

“I always thought a couple of million dollars would be good, but this is seven or eight times that amount!”

The winner shared that as a small business owner, he looks forward to being able to make some plans and pay off his mortgage.
