$10 Million Oz Lotto Winner Gets His Christmas Wish

A young $10 Million Oz Lotto winner is stoked with his new multi-millionaire status. The lucky customer took home the Division 1 prize in draw 1297 on Christmas day. So the Hervey Bay man said this year’s Christmas will be a memorable one for him!

“So it’s a pretty good present,” he said to a lottery official. “It’s a Christmas I’ll never forget”.

The man, who is in his 20’s and wishes to remain anonymous, checked his winning ticket online after finishing Christmas dinner with his family on December 25th.

“I think it said: ‘You’ve won $10 million’. I was in utter disbelief – I had to call everyone to make sure I wasn’t dreaming,” he said.

The winner told officials he was excited to purchase a house and set up a comfortable lifestyle for his family. He also revealed he wouldn’t be returning to work in the new year.

“We’ll certainly be buying a house – there’ll be no more renting. We just want to live comfortably for the rest of our lives and be happy.”

“I really can’t believe it. I’m retiring in my 20s”, he said.

The win for the Hervey Bay man comes after another Hervey Bay couple took out the $70 Million Powerball jackpot in 2016. Two grandparents fulfilled their life-long dream of winning lotto after playing their regular Powerball numbers on the 7th of January, 2016.

“I’ve actually heard that Hervey Bay had a fair few lottery millionaires and I’ve been so jealous. Now I’m one of them. Hervey Bay must be a lucky hotspot for lottery tickets,” the Christmas winner said.

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1297 were 28, 4, 38, 11, 7, 32 and 33. The supplementary numbers were 40 and 3.
